On Memorial Day weekend, the opening ceremonies of the 100th Running of the Indy 500 will involve exciting airplane flyovers, including one by a P-51 Mustang from Tom Wood Aviation.

The P-51 Mustang is an American single-seat fighter plane that was crucial during World War II, and has a top speed of 437 MPH. The plane will be piloted by Jeff Wood, Owner and President of the Tom Wood Group. The flyovers will happen 30 minutes prior to the start of the race.

As IMS President J. Douglas Boles says, This year's flyovers will be thrilling, and represent the perfect blend of past and present we're celebrating at the 100th Running of the Indy 500" (IMS).

Make your way to the Indy 500 to see the flyover, as well as the automobile race and other festivities!
